Just before 7pm, a first alarm assignment was dispatched for a structure fire in Tuttle Allotment. Within a few minutes 17-9, 17-1 and 17-8 went en route with 11 volunteers. Crews arrived to find a single story house with nothing showing from the address side. Upon entering the house a strong odor of wires burning had crew looking for the source. After a quick survey with the TIC, crews isolated it to the hot water tank. The side panel was removed and the area quickly ignited into flames. The power to water heater was shut off and fire was extinguished. Mutual aid companies on scene assisted with RIT, and ventilation. Assisting companies were Andover FD, Jamestown FD, Conneaut Lake Park FD and Conneaut Lake Ambulance.
