On the evening of October 10, Jamestown Fire Department was dispatched for a
barn fire on Westford Road. Assisting on the first alarm was North Shenango
for an Engine, Fallowfield for a Engine, and Couneaut Lake Park for RIT.
Engine 89 was first on scene and started with deck gun operations,
along with pulling a hand line. 17-1, 17-9, 17-8 arrived shortly after
Engine 89 and took the driveway with 17-9 for tower operations. Multiple lines were then pulled off 17-9 for fire attack. 17-9 was stripped of all its hose for the first time to fight this fully involved fire, 9 was also supplied by Engine 89. In the first few minutes there were water issues with keeping up with the water tower and multiple handlines but that was taken care of a multi county tanker shuttle operation put in place by 89. After the initial attack was started Conneaut Lake Parks Truck 5-9 was placed at the B-C corner of the building to also support in tower operations. Multiple departments from multiple counties and states assisted at the scene.
